TAT Fall Workshop 2007
Friday - Sunday, Aug. 31 - Sept. 2
What Are You Becoming?
We long for completion, for wholeness, for full satisfaction -- and we try to
acquire it by becoming rich or famous or powerful or holy or wise or loved, and
so on. But all those attempts are doomed to ultimate failure. Our existential
suffering results from not knowing what we really are.
Man Carving His Own Destiny, by Albin Polasek
Self-realization is the discovery of our real, actual identity. That identity is
not hidden, but it is obscured by faulty beliefs about the self.
Self-realization occurs through the process of letting go of those faulty
beliefs. These include our identification with the body, the thoughts, feelings,
and mental processes -- all of which can be lumped into objects of
consciousness. The letting-go or disidentification with objects of
consciousness when looking for the subject of consciousness is the
process of becoming what, in fact, you really are. The completion of that
paradoxical becoming simultaneously removes our existential woes.
There's a gap as wide as life and death between understanding what we are
and becoming it. The 2007 TAT Fall Workshop is an opportunity to meet
with a wonderful group of fellow-seekers, including several who have gone beyond
even a conceptual understanding and can help with the spiritual action that
leads to Life.
The workshop will be held on August 31st through September 2nd,
beginning with a Friday evening session for those who can arrive early,
continuing with workshop sessions starting at 10 AM Saturday, and concluding
with a Sunday morning wrap-up. Registration deadline is Friday, August 24th.

WHAT IS THE TAT FOUNDATION?
A group encouraging people to think rather than believe. A group determined to
help people find ways and means to answer their deepest philosophical questions.
A gathering of folks who are not afraid to be honest with one another. An island
of hope and sanity (or at least the hope for sanity!). Last, but not least, TAT
is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization chartered in 1973.
